Community Standards

Notespace is about generating Notes, sharing and collaborate in Notes and discovery. We value authenticity, spontaneity, and kindness, and we are proud to offer a platform that empowers users like you to share a glimpse into your Notes. We want Notespace to be a place where people can have fun, share and inspire  themselves and others while feeling safe.

Our Community Standards are designed to help ensure that you, and all our users, use our services safely, and they must be taken seriously. They are part of our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy (together the “User Agreement”). If you don’t agree with any part of the User Agreement, including the Community Standards, then it might be that Notespace isn’t for you.

The Community Standards are really just a collection of things that could be thought of as being respectful to other people. Basically, if you’re doing something that you would not want other people to do to you on Notespace, then you’re probably violating the Community Standards. But just in case you’re not sure, here is a list:

- Bullying, Abuse, and Harassment:
You may not share content that seeks to or does bully, abuse or harass people, whether they are other users or non-users.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that, among other things, seeks to or does, bully, harass, intimidate, defame, or threaten a person.

- Child Sexual Exploitation: Child exploitation is strictly forbidden, and Notespace has zero tolerance towards any content that contains or promotes child sexual exploitation.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that depicts, promotes, encourages, or supports, a child engaging in sexually explicit or sexually suggestive acts; including but not limited to illustrated, computer-generated or other forms of realistic depictions of a child in a sexually explicit context, or engaging in sexually explicit acts; sexualized commentaries about or directed at a known or unknown minor; links to third-party sites that host child sexual exploitation material; sharing fantasies about or promoting engagement in child sexual exploitation; expressing a desire to obtain materials that feature child sexual exploitation; recruiting, advertising or expressing an interest in a commercial sex act involving a child, or in harboring and/or transporting a child for sexual purposes; sending sexually explicit media to a child; engaging or trying to engage a child in a sexually explicit conversation; trying to obtain sexually explicit media from a child or trying to engage a child in sexual activity  through blackmail or other incentives; identifying alleged victims of childhood sexual exploitation by name or image; and promoting or normalizing sexual attraction to minors as a form of identity or sexual orientation.

- Hateful Content: You may not share content that is hateful towards people or organizations.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that promotes or tolerates hatred or violence against people because of their race, ethnic origin, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, state of health, or other forms of discriminatory intolerance. Similarly, you may not share content that promotes or supports organizations, individuals, or others that encourage or condone hateful or discriminatory behavior in any form.

- Illegal Activity: You may not share content that promotes or causes illegal activity.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that promotes, causes, or coordinates illegal activity, including but not limited to content related to using or selling of counterfeit goods or services; drugs or controlled substances; human trafficking; stolen goods; burglary or theft; murder; rape or sexual assault; fraud or deception; or weapons, firearms or explosives.

- Intellectual Property: You may not share content that violates others’ intellectual property.

- Non-Consensual Nudity: Non-consensual nudity is strictly forbidden, and Notespace has zero tolerance towards any content that contains or promotes non-consensual nudity.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that contains nudity, sexually explicit conduct, or porn that features individuals who did not know or consent to their inclusion in the content or its distribution. This includes but is not limited to hidden camera content featuring nudity, sexual acts, or upskirts; content that manipulates another person’s face to be on the body of a nude person without their consent; or content taken in an intimate setting not intended for distribution.

- Non-Public Personal Information: You may not share content that includes other people’s nonpublic personal information without their consent.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that includes non-public information about a person or entity without their consent, which may include but is not limited to email addresses; phone numbers; physical addresses or other location information; financial information; or other information that may cause a person or entity physical harm.

- Suicide and Self-Harm: You may not share content that promotes, encourages, or glorifies suicide or self-harm.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that promotes or otherwise encourages suicide or self-harm, which includes encouragement like statements such as “the most effective”, “the easiest”, “the best”, “the most successful”, “you should”, “why don’t you”. This includes sharing information, strategies, methods, or instructions that would assist someone in self-harming or suicide. Violations of this policy can occur in photos, comments, or messages.

- Violent Content: You may not share content that is threatening, inciting, glorifying, or expressing a desire for violence or harm.

What is a violation of this policy? Content that glorifies, praises, or celebrates acts of violence, threatens, wishes, hopes, expresses a desire for, incites, promotes, or encourages others to commit acts of violence or harm to themselves or others, including (but not limited to) threatening to kill, torture, sexually assault people, commit atrocity crimes including crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide, or otherwise hurt someone.

You can report any violation of these Community Standards directly through the reporting tools in the Notespace application or through our webform here. The Notespace Support Team will review the report and reply if needed. What happens after you make a report?

Any behavior, activity, or content that we believe is contrary to the Community Standards may be sanctioned, either temporarily or permanently.

We have the right to monitor the content and the use of the App, at any time, and at our discretion, in order to verify compliance with the Community Standards and the Terms of Use. Our decision as to whether there is a violation of the Community Standards is final. Luckily, all of this should remain exceptional if you comply with the Community Standards.

Nevertheless, if you consider that a decision taken against you is unfair, you have the opportunity to contest it by writing to using this form here.
